SPOTLIGHT PROJECT: A NEW FOREST
The Friends received a grant to purchase 1250 trees as part of the Trees for Every Delawarean Initiative.
These have now been planted, creating a 5-acre new forest that is currently in an open field near Judge Morris Estate.
Over the next several years these young trees will need maintenance, so please volunteer to help.

THE NATURE CENTER COMPLEX
Currently, the Nature Center at White Clay Creek State Park is located in the Chambers House which is approximately 200 years old. It’s busting at the seams with collections, summer programs, and other activities.
In 2024, our legislature allocated additional funding for the planning and design of the Nature Center Complex. Ground breaking on this project is expected in the 4th qtr of 2026.
