ADVOCACY UPDATE:
THE NATURE CENTER COMPLEX

Currently, the Nature Center at White Clay Creek State Park is located in the Chambers House which is approximately 200 years old. It’s busting at the seams with collections, summer programs, and other activities.

In June 2021, our legislature allocated $300,000 for the planning and design of the Nature Center Complex. Recently, our legislators’ request for an additional

$3 million in funding was included in the Governor’s recommended budget. The allocation will support the move of the Park office and the completion of “Big Pond”.

Please congratulate our local legislators and encourage them to ensure these funds remain in the final version of the Bond Bill.
